Yummy I love salsa so much! And I can’t stand the store bought stuff anymore, so I took this opportunity to make some homemade delicious salsa!
This makes one jar full and should sit overnight for the best taste!
What you’ll need:
- 5 tomatoes on the vine (or whatever you prefer)
- Big bunch of cilantro
- 3 fresh garlic gloves
- 1/3 of a yellow onion (white is fine however)
- 1 serrano pepper
- 1 jalapeño (obviously you can add more if you like more spice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Blender or food processor
- Jar or container
- Knife and cutting board (…is that necessary to write? haha)
First you want to wash all your veggies! Then you will cut your tomatoes into quarters, remove the goopy pulp and seeds and put in your compost (or garbage disposal if you don’t have a compost). Put the tomatoes into the blender/processor. Then cut the onion, garlic, a handful of cilantro, and the peppers! Make sure you add all the pepper seeds, that’s what makes it good and spicy! Add some salt and pepper right before blending.
Now blend away! After you get a good texture, stop blending. It may be a little pink at this point, don’t worry, when it sits it will turn more red! Jar it up and refrigerate it. Remember, you really can add whatever floats your boat, some lime or more peppers. Make it more yummy to your taste buds!
Enjoy it while it lasts…which isn’t too long!
