These lace tiaras are seen all over online, but the more I make them the better I make them. So let me share with you my knowledge and tips!

What you’ll need:

Lace (the length and width will vary depending on what you want)
Fabric Stiffener
A Blowdryer
Hot glue gun
Foil
Metallic Acrylic Paint (I love FolkArt personally)
Sponge Brushes (2)
Cookie sheet
Optional: Fine Glitter and Mod Podge

First you will need to set up your work station, a clear surface lined with foil. This project can be long, so I place myself near my TV so I can watch HP at the same time!!

Then, you will need to lay out your lace flat onto the foil. Add a thick layer of stiffener over the lace using one of your brushes. After full coverage, blow dry the lace. This quickens the process and stiffens it better. Then flip over and do the same process to this side, then repeat back and forth on both sides. You want to stiffen both sides 2-4 times.

After it is stiffened (which it definitely wont feel too stiff) you will paint! Paint the first side and blow dry that as well, flip and paint again. Then make a foil cap like the one below and wrap the lace around it, overlapping the lace ends and hot gluing the ends together.

At this point, you can paint over the whole thing once more. And if you would like to glitterify it, now is the time! Lightly mod podge the lace part by part and cover with glitter. Then you can cover again with mod podge.Then leave it to dry. I leave mine for a few hours.

Now it will be a little stiffer. Some people are done at this point, but I have learned better! Take a cookie sheet and line it will foil, place the foil cap wrapped with lace onto the sheet. Then stick the sheet into the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes (it will smell gross btw). After it is done “baking” you will take it out. It may be a big gooey at first, but let it dry for a bit. When it is done it should be the stiffest princess crown possible!!
